Shimanami Ocean Road connects Ehime and Hiroshima prefecture including six islands between them. We proposed a pavilion for each island and they have various characters such as art, local products and leisure representing these islands like dots in the Ocean. The outline of each island has been traced and subdivided by Voronoi Algorithm, then transformed into three dimensional forms. They will be recognized as an icon of each island and at the same time they are also symbol of the Shimanami Ocean Road, which connects the islands. Visitors can take a rest there during their cycling or walking tour and get information about events. These pavilions are also base points, where local culture such as Japanese chess Igo or Hakata-no-shio salt, can be developed further.
